America in consideration of the previous and in
consideration with the several Acts of Congress
in such cases made & provided have given and
granted and by these presents do give & grant unto
the said George McCarver the said tract above described,
to have and to hold the same together with all the rights,
privileges and immunities and appurtenances of whatso--
ever nature thereunto belonging unto the said George
McCarver and his heirs & assigns forever. In testimony
whereof, I, James Monroe, President of the United
States, have caused these letters to be made patent
and the seal of the General Land Office to be hereunto
affixed. Given under my hand at the City of
Washington the first day of May in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
twenty four, and of the Independence of the United
States the Forty seventh,

This Indenture made the 25day of Dec. in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty
four between Thos. J. Davis of Shelby County and
State of Alabama of the one part, and J. S. Walker
of Autauga County, State of Alabama. Witnesseth
for the just & full consideration of the sum of four
hundred dollars to the said J. S. Walker in hand
paid by the said Thos. J. Davis, the receipt whereof
I hereby acknowledge, have bargained, sold, aliened
& conveyed and do by these presents bargain, sell, alien
convey unto the aforesaid Davis, his heirs, admns,
executors, or assigns all that tract or parcel of land
lying & being in Shelby County on the waters of Shoal
Creek containing one hundred and fifty nine 50/100
acres, being on the north east quarter of section number
twelve, township twenty two, range three west [of]
Tuscaloosa Land District together with all and sin--
gular the rights, hereditaments and appurtenances
in anywise belonging thereto, which above de--
scribed property I do hereby bind myself, my heirs,
exc, admns, & assigns &c, unto the aforesaid Thos. J.
Davis, his heirs, executors, admns &c, and will forever
