To all to whom it may concern: Know, ye that John McNeal a private of Capt. Joseph [?] Clinch's company (F) seventh regiment of Infantry who was inlisted the sixth day of April one thousand eight hundred fourteen to serve' for five years is hereby honorably discharged from the army of the United States, his time of service having expired Said John McNeal was born in Rowan County North Carolina, is twenty three years of age, six feet one inch fair complexion, blue eyes, fair hair, and occupation when inlisted a Hatter Given at Fort Scott Georgia this 5 day of April 1819 A. Arbuckle. 4 com. 7 Infy. command.

State of Alabama} Shelby County} Know all men by there present that John McNeal a hatter by trade for good cause moving me thereiunto having made, ordained constututed & appointed, and by there [prevents] do make ordain constitute and appoint John Fraser Buchelter of the same State & County aforesaid Tailor by trade my time and lawful attorney from me in my name and to my user, to ask, demand & receive from the Register of the General Land Office of the United States one hundred and sixty acres of land, agreeable to the laws of the United States passed on the subject and also authorizes Attornies or attornies under him to appoint and further to execute for me, in my name all and singular, thing or things which shall or may be neces= sary touching or covering the premises. And when he the said Jihn Francis Buchelter shall receive the same to ,ake deed transfer as fully, thoroughly and entirely as I the said John McNeal in my own person might or could do in or about the same, notifying attorneying and confiming whatever my said attorney or attorneys shall make lawfully do or come to be done in & about the extension of the premises by

4 on that subject and also attorneys or attornies under him to appoint and further to execute for me & in my name all and singular thing or things which shall or may be necessary touching or concerning the privileges, and when he the said John Francis Buchellie shall receive the same to make deed, transfers etc. as fully, thoroughly & entirely as I the said Kenneth McKarhill in my new [power] might or could do in about the same. Ratifying, allowing & confirming whatsoever my said attorney shall lawfully do or cause to be done in & about the execution of the [previous ] by virtue of these presents. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 8th day of September in the year of our Lord 1819. State of Alabama Shelby County Know all men by these presents that I James Coffer by occupation a farmer, for good causes me thereunto moving having made & ordained, constituted & appointed, and by these presents do make, constitute, & appoint John Francis Buchettie of the same state and county aforesaid Tailor by trade my true & lawful attorney for me, and in my name, & may sue to ask demand and receive from the Register of the General Land Office of the United States, one hundred & sixty acres of land agreeable to the laws of the United States on that subject, and also attorneys or attornies under him to appoint & further to execute for me & in my name, all and singular thing or things which shall or may be necessary touching or concerning the premises, and when he the said John Francis Buchettie shall receive the same to make deed, transfers, etc, as fully, thoroughly and entirely as I the said James Coffer in my own person ought or could do in or about the same ratifying, allowing & confirming whatsoever my said attorneys shall lawfully do or cause to be done, in and about the execution of the premises by virtue of these presents. 5 State of Alabama Shelby County

I hereby certify that the within named William C. Lee, an acting Justice of Peace in & for the said County & state aforesaid, and that due faith & credit should be given to all his acts in his official capacity. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of the county this 8th day of October 1819. Henry Avery, C.C.C. Alabama State Shelby County Know all men by these presents that I do obligate and firmly bind myself my heirs, executors, under the penalty of three thousand dollars to make or cause to be made forever unto John Francis Buchettie his heirs assigns or lawful attorneys a full conveyance of all the rights & claims I have to one hundred and sixty acres of land it being my claims on the United States in consideration of my services, and which lands the said Buchettie is to claim & demand from the United States by power and virtue of my discharge from given unto him by me for that purpose as to my lawful attorney are hereby the said one hundred and sixty acres of land inviolably sold when I have obtained the [pattent] on said land of the United States through said Buchettie my attorney for that purpose with all my rights & claims to the said Buchettie specified for which lands I do hereby acknowledge to have received of the said Buchetti the consideration paid in land unto me. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 15 day of October in the year of our Lord 1819. Test: John C. Farrill W. W.
