RAILROADERS AT WORK . . .

Back in 1912 a giant of a man named
S. S. Gregory went to work on a fledgling
electric railroad as a lineman. In time he
worked his way up to general line foreman
and was in charge of the vital power dis-
tribution system of the railroad during its
39 years of electric operation.

Diesels have now taken over and the over-
head trolley lines have come down. But Line
Foreman Gregory still has a vital job—keep-
ing the all-important railroad telephone sys-
tem in good working order.

Men like Gregory are the heart and soul
of the railroad. They make our motto, "Service
with Courtesy," a fact rather than a fancy.
