Kenney Gets N. Y. Post

John T. Kenney has been appointed
commercial agent for the Piedmont &
Northern and Durham & Southern
Railways in New York City, it was an-
nounced on March 1 by L. R. Lawson,
vice president and traffic manager of
the two railroads.

Prior to accepting the new position,
Mr. Kenney had three and a half years
of experience in the field of freight
traffic.

The new commercial agent is a na-
tive of Boston, Mass., where he was
graduated from high school in 1938
and attended the Bentley School of
Accounting & Finance for two years.
In 1941 he enlisted in the Marine
Corps and was a platoon sergeant when
he was honorable discharged in 1945.

He is married, has two sons (aged 10
and 5), and has been living in Alex-
andria, Va. He will move his family to
New York in a few months.
