Carolyn Weill enjoyed her vacation in
her home town, Clio, S. C., where she
visited relatives and friends.

Mrs. Hazel Robinson, secretary to Vice
President and Traffic Manager Lawson,
was granted a leave of absense effective
June 30. Miss Betty Jo Warmbold is her
successor.

Miss Alice Armstrong, secretary to
General Freight Agent Williams, re-
signed effective June 30 and has been suc-
ceeded by Miss Mary Alice Womble.

Miss Barbara Smith joined the traffic
department on July 1 as secretary to
General Freight Agent wright. She is a
native of Pageland, S. C.

H. R. Ellis, assistant to the traffic
manager, is now at home recovering
from a recent heart attack. He is report-
ed to be recovering rapidly.

John F. Manley, assistant general
freight agent, has returned to work after
a brief illness which confined him to
Presbyterian Hospital.

Mrs. G. L. Fisher, mother of Carl
Fisher
, traffic department, was injured
in an automobile accident on May 26.
She is now at home and is reported doing
nicely.

George A. McKee joined the engineer-
ing department on June 1 as assistant
engineer. Mr. McKee is married to the
former Miss Carolyn Cashion of Moores-
ville, and they are making their home
at 409 W. Park Avenue, Charlotte.

Mr. and Mrs. Boyce F. Coble visited
friends in Raleigh, N. C., the week-end
of June 19. Following this visit Mrs.
Coble went to Washington, D. C. to visit
other friends. Mr. Coble is in the pur-
chasing department.

B. H. Trull, Jr., chief clerk, purchas-
ing department, attended the annual
meeting of the Purchases & Stores Divi-
sion, Association of American Railroads,
held in Chicago on June 7-9. Mr. Trull
was active in committee work for the
division during the past year.

Engineer W. T. Flowers, above, proud-
ly displays the 16-pound striped bass
caught at Santee-Cooper. Mr. Flowers
was accompanied on this fishing trip by
his wife, son, and several friends.

J. Wilfred Long, section foreman, An-
derson, accompanied by Mrs. Long, their
daughters, Margeurite and Linda, and
son, Jimmy, spent a week at Savannah
Beach, Georgia.

Bill Clerk and Mrs. Allen Williams of
Anderson recently enjoyed a few days at
Ridgecrest, N. C., attending the Sunday
School Conference at the Baptist Aseem-
bly.

Cashier Jack Vaughn of Anderson vis-
ited Myrtle Beach with a party of
friends during the latter part of June.
Miss Myrtle Noblett, daughter of Elec-
trical Engineer F. A. Noblett, visited
New York in June.

W. L. Hawkins and family visited rel-
atives in Charleston, S. C., recently,
where they enjoyed seeing the historical
sights.

J. L. Rhodes and family enjoyed a
week-end trip to the mountains recently.

Brakeman Forrest E. Vaughn of Belton
spent the week of July 5-12 vacationing
at home.
