ditioning, seed germination, and the
growing of plants.

for vermiculite the Zonolite Company
maintains research laboratories at
Travelers Rest and at Evanston, Ill.
Headquarters for the company are in
Chicago. J. A. Kelly is general manager
of mining and processing operations in
the Southern area.

About two-thirds of the total invest-
ment in railway property consists of
fixed plant (land, roadway, bridges,
tunnels, signal systems, shops, stations
and other facilities), and one-third con-
sists of locomotives, passenger and
freight cars and other mobile units of
equipment, correctly called "rolling
stock."
