The boys then [?] were playing cards got to squablin [squabbling?] I went off and left Cootter + Martin [?] and when I got where they were playing Dick Davis had a club [?] drawn [?] on Jim Fuller and told him G - D - him he would kill him Cootter came [illegible] and said whats the mather he said Jim Fuller I am not after you you married my first cousin Chris [Christopher] said Cootter no body has done any thing cept [except?] Dick Davis + Jim Fuller let them work it Cootter pushed Cris [Christopher] said what you pushing me for and by that time Cootler shot Cootter then said Cris [Christopher] I shot you I would not of [have] shot you for any thing do you want me to cary [carry] you home

Henry Abbicrombia [Abercrombie?] being sworn says just as I walked up [?] I got there about 5 minuts [minutes] before the shooting they were playing and had made the misdeal Dick Davis made the misdeal just then the game was out George Fuller said he made the misdeal Dick Davis got up and said you been cursing me all day and dont you curs [curse] me any more Jim Fuller said whats the matter with you Dick Jim walked off a [illegible] + Dick Davis followed him saying dont you curs [curse] me any more Cootter Clardy came up then and said who in the hell is tring [trying] to run over Dick Davis

Jim Fuller said nobody Cootter said who is that talking + Jim said me and at this time Cootter went to Cris [Christopher] Heron and said who in the hell is that trying to run over Dick Davis Chris [Christopher] said nobody Damn Dick Davis When Chris [Christopher] said Damn Dick Davis Cootler pushed Chris [Christopher] back and shot him I only saw one pistol the one Cootter had Chris [Christopher] stood up about 2 minuts [minutes] after he was shot Cootter look like he was mad when he asked who was after Dick Davis

Dr A R Heider [?] being sworn says Sunday march 19 1905 I was called to see Christopher Heron and found him suffering from a gunshot wound on the right breat [breast] from which he died this weeks later[?] the wound was produced by a pistol Bull [bullet] entring [entering?] the right breast 1 1/2 inches to the neck [?] side and 2 1/2 inch above the right nipple after penetrating the skin it about [?] a direct course between the 3 + fourth ribs going through the right lung and lodging in the muscle of the back about 1 inch to iner [inner] side of shoulder blade. The course of bullet almost direct from entrance to point of lodging with a slite [slight] diversion to the other side caused by striking a rib Death resulted from the injury on the 14th day

Inquest of Charlie Long April 9th 1905

Jean Copeland being sworn says that on the 9th of April 1905 about 11 [?] oclock am [a.m.] Mr Charlie Lond [Long?] Robert Long and myself were playing Robert Long had an old pistol with one bull [bullet] in it he was snaping [snapping] it. I was not scared of it because I knew it wold [would] not shoot he snaped [snapped] it at Charlie Long and pistol fired hitting him in the head he did not crie [?] but after [?] minuts [minutes] he did not speak they wer [were] not mad with each other I am 11 years old

John Copeland being sworn says this morning Apl [April] 9th 1905 about 11 clock [o'clock] I heard a pistol fire. I saw the old pistol last night it had one Bull [bullet] in it had been snaped [snapped] on, a good many thing [time?] I saw it snaped [snapped] a good many time this am [?]

Inquest of Tom Williams April 21st 1905 _______________________ [This section crossed out with a large "X"]
Dora Wright being sworn says I saw Walter Williams a sconttery[?] Tom Williams shoved Tom + Walter had a few licks but not hurt Tom Williams was using shovel to pass of sawdust Zack Baker jumped off carrage on run[?] and grabed Walter Williams. Serge Williams got down of carriage where he was at work, with mallet in his hand and tool; Both [illegible] he was working with the mallet to drive down dogs and hit Tom Williams in the head with the mallet Verg Williams when standing to the side of Tom Williams did not say any thing to Tom Williams. He [illegible] + shocked him speachless.

J F Beckenbaugh [?] being sworn says Jan 31s 1905 about 11 oclock I was sawing had my back to Tom Williams + Walter Williams I look around saw Walter Williams pick up a stick and advance on Tom Williams with the stick, and struck at him Tom struck back at Walter, with shovel I hollor to stop there to ab[illegible] but they didnt stop I told Zack Baker to part them he grabed Walter Williams Ver Williams walked up behind Tom Williams and struck him on head with malet using both hands and the Lick knocked him over in the [illegible]

Zack Baker being sworn says Tom Williams and Walter Williams fell out about throwing slabs across the pit I heard them say: did you like what was said Walter Williams Broke off piece of sc[illegible] and struck Tom Williams and fell and Tom struck Walter Williams and hell by that time I got to them and took hold of Walter and told him there was no use going on that way and then Verg Williams walked by behing Tom Williams and hit him with a mallet hit him side the Head he said there was no need to drive clogs at that time I was not useing my mallet at that time. Tom Williams was standing with his back to Verg Williams when struck
