Witness of inquest of Mason Simpson
John Gary being Duly Sworn says
that about 5 oclock on the 29th Oct 1905
I was siting on one side of fireplace
and Mason Simpson on the other we were
talking about the way colord people were
living About this time I was called to
out the pigs up when I got back he
was down on the floor we put a quilt
down on the floor before the fire and
put him on it he never spoke after we
put him on the quilt he had been
complaining of a pain in his right
breast

Lilla Gary being sworn says
abut 5oclock on 29th Oct 1905
asked me to cook him some masa [?] supper [crossed out 'soup']
soup and went in the house and
when I went in I fownd him on the
I then called John and we laid him
on a quilt he Mason Simpson said
you cant put me on the bed just put
me on the quilt he had been complaining
of his right side

Dr T L W Bailey being Sworn says
I hav examined the dead body of Mason
Simpson and find no marks of injury
on the body and in my opinion death
was the result of natural causes
