Mrs. Melvina Terry being duly sworn says
that as clock was striking four on the
afternoon of Sep 5, she heard one pistol
shot, and in about a minute she heard
another pistol shot

W.H. Terry being duly sworn says;
That he had instructions from Mr.
J.M. Hellams with whom he lives and
cultivates a farm, to look after straight-
ning some corn. That as he returned
from same between 3 or 4 oclock comming
in direction of Mr. Hellams house
and on the way to his house he
heard a pistol shot. the shot being
in the direction of Mr. Hellams home.
Mr. Terry further says that as he
approached the house of Mr. Hellams
by a path that leads from this work
by Mr. Hellams house and by lot on
to his house he observed the back
door open, the door by the chimney shut.
the Front door shut and all windows
he could see were shut except one on
front piazza.

Mrs. W.H. Terry recalled says the
shots she heard were in direction
of Mr. Hellams house.

Mrs. Maude Terry being duly sworn
says, that she lives on Mr. Hellams
place that she heard two pistol shots
between 3 and 4 oclock on afternoon of
Sep 5 a minute or so apart. she could
not say what direction the shots were.
She further says that she and her
mother in law, Mrs. W.H. Terry, came
to milk on that afternoon as usual
and that she saw nothing of Mr. and Mrs.
