Alien [Allen] Hugens Sworn Says
I live hear [here] with my Mother Millie Hugens
Bros Henry & John Hugens Will & Henry Cannon was
over hear [here] last night we was all seting [sitting] talking
Mother was cooking super [supper] and was passing
back and farwards [forwards] to the stove room she
stayed in the room with us longer than usial [usual] &
we heard something in the stove room I thought
it was a Dog John haled [hailed] several times and
got no answer he then said he would get
his gun and about that time the door was
lached [latched] from in the stove room and the
light went out in the stove room John
got his gun and haled [hailed] 3 or 4 more times
and got no answer he then unlached [unlatched] the
door and pushed it open and fired in
the dark and George Martin fell farward [forward]
in the door and never spoke this is the
gun that John used it is my gun we all
have lived in this neighborhood all our lives
have all ben [been] the best of frends [friends] ther [there] was
no dificulty [difficulty] between them I think
that George Martin just ment [meant] alittle [a little] fun
or joke on us George has ben [been] living in
our family 9 or 10 years and none of
us have ever had any dificulty [difficulty]
