36 Ordinances of the City of Greenville.
any manner interfere with or destroy the fences around
said Cemetery; and no person or persons shall wantonly
disturb the springs in said Cemetery by throwing in
sticks, stones or trash, or by washing the person or any
article therein of any kind whatsoever; and no person
or persons, shall enter the said Cemetery by climbing
over the fence, or fences, enclosing the same, or in any
other way than by the regular entrances thereto.
Sec. 2. And be it further ordained, That it shall not be
lawful for any person, or persons to make any indecent
exposure of his or her person, or to be guilty of any lewd
or indecent act or behavior within the said Cemetery or
the streets of the city.
Sec. 3. And be it further ordained, That any person who
shall be found guilty of violating any of the provisions
of this Ordinance shall be subject to a fine of not less
than one dollar for each and every offence, at the
discretion of the Mayor. And it is hereby made the duty
of Chief of Police and his assistants and the special
policeman at the said Cemetery, to arrest all parties
offending against the Ordinance and bring them before
the Mayor, to be dealt with according to law.
Sec. 4. And be it further ordained, That it shall be unlawful
for any loose or disreputable character, or any
other person, to behave in any unseemly manner in
Springwood Cemetery, at any time, to the annoyance
of peaceable citizens.
Sec. 5. And be it further ordained, That this Ordinance
shall take effect from and after the ratification thereof.
Done and ratified, in Council assembled, under the
Corporate Seal of the City of Greenville, the
