Mr Tilton Esq
Depty Minister of Fisheries
Ottawa

Sir
In my communication
by telegram this am. I described
the information obtained from
the Dominion Express agent [?],
and the information also obtained
from the Head office at Montreal,
neither of which give evidence
of success in the transmission
of Eggs to B.C. -- Your reply has
however closed the matter for this
season.

Regarding Spec trout in
which you evince considerable
interest, and in which I also
[coincide?], I fear our wishes
in getting a sufficent supply,
to gratify all applicants this
season will not be realised.
I think in looking over our present
stock we can turn out about
100,000, fry which if not sup-
plemented from any other source
will be distributed for [?]

[Recto]

reply [?] "cannot accept
to supply trout fry" therefore
I [?] [?] [?]
trout fry would not be taken
but would feel thankful for the
kind donation of 10,000 California
[Eggs?] - these Specimens he will
[?] 4.50 [?] it gets
your telegram "If satisfied
"Speckled trout ova in good
condition sought offer"
this having somewhat [?]
and I have taken no [nature?]
If it means speckled trout fry
instead of [?] I may yet try
[?] and learn what
his offer of 100,000 fry at $3.00
[?]. is still open; But as con-
siderable risk may arise in
shipping from Chicago the fry, it
would be well to let the matter
drop for this season - and
make every possible effort
to ["surfeit'] [?] supplement [?] [?]
year; by putting eggs from every
[?] [?] [?] [?] season.
I am yours
Obdly
Sam. Wilmot
