VIA [TOWNSVILLE],

9th November, 1939.

Hon. Secretary,
The University of Queensland,
Queensland Place Names Committee,
BRISBANE.

Dear Sir,

I regret the delay in procuring the information
requested in your letter of 12th September.

However the following is the best I can do;-

Towri - Tribal land
Deeral - SWEETHEART N.Q.
Stoney Ridges - WALBAH YORLAMBOO N.Q.
Stoney Ridges - BOAHREE S.A.
Crest of Hill WOBURR N.Q.
Kissing Point is not a corruption of an aboriginal
word but so far as can be ascertained is come by in the following
manner.

That a lonely beach in [Townsville] was a favourite
walk of the couples in the early days, and on reaching the rocks
embraced, hence the name derived "Kissing Point" and it has always
since been know as that.

Yours faithfully,
[G. C. Courtny] X Home Dep.
Medical Superintendent.

Just letting you know that this page seems to be out of sequence, as it is dated 1939 when all the others are 1924. Don't know if it matters.
