Submitting list of Railway Stations for verification of [?] meaning of aboriginal names.
The Protector of Aborigines, Brisbane.
Sir,
In connection with the nomenclature of railway stations in Queensland the Commissioner desires, if posstible, to have a complete record showing the meaning of the names allotted to all stations on the Governement Railways in this State. I enclose the printer's proof giving the information as far as I have been able to obtain it up to the present. I would esteem it a favor if you would kindly have the list looked over, and favor me with your assistance in its correct compilation.

Sir, In reply to your letters of the 15th, 16th and 27th instant, I give here a few aboriginal names for Railway Stations.
310 miles - N. C. Line.
Narrawing - The Sea Buggarn - Saltwater Banan - The Bay
18 miles 17 chains - Crows Nest Line.
Goranga - rushes Geengee - Green vegeration on Creek Geerarl - Creek
5 miles 78 chains - Laidley Valley.
As far as we know the tribe of this district is extinct, but the following general aboriginal names may supply the need.
Kullee - Fresh Water Boogara - Kangaroo Goomba - Ironbark Beezie - Firestick Woombul - Mountain.
I trust these will be of service to you.
