I have the honor to report that
I visited Toowoombba Jail this
morning and carefully inspected
the fence in question. It is a very old
two rail and split [paling?] fence
rotten and not worth repairing
probably it is twenty years old.
[Mr Blaney?] the Jailer pointed out
to me that it is erected three feet
within the boundary of the Crown
Lands to prevent the adjoining
holders from building right up to
the boundary. The paddock is
used for cows and horses by the
Jail people . [Mr Blaney?] informs
me that on the morning after
