Respecting incorporation &c Toowoomba & Drayton
Toowoomba Township and Municipality
Toowoomba 18 May 1860
Sir
Us do ourselves the honor to state for
the Information of His Excellency the Governor
that a Meeting was held last evening in
Toowoomba, at which were present about
One hundred and fifty bona fide house-
holders. And the following Resolutions
were unanimaously adopted.
1st That this meeting being of opinion
that a Municipality is very desirable,
deem it advisable to petition His Excelly
the Governor to form Toowoomba into a
Township, either in connection with
Drayotn or otherwise, as the Government
may consider expedient.
2nd That the following Gentlemen be
appointed a Councillor to carry out the
above Resolution

may be requested
to forward a
Petition containing
the signatures of as
many householders,
(no less than 50,) as
may desire the
incorporation of the
District, and setting
for the purpose limits
of the Municipality,
to the end that the
necessary further
notification may
be published in the
Government Gazette,
among the
"Municipalities Act
of 1858"
