Inspector General of Police
Enclosing letter received from C P S Calandoon
Office of Inspector General
of Police
Brisbane 5th June 1860
Sir,
I have the honor to en-
close a letter received from the Clerk
of Petty Sessions at Callandoon in
reply to a communication from this
office, a copy of which is also en-
closed, and to express an opinion
that the tone of Mr [? Sumsalaine's]
letter is not exactly that in which
a Government Officer should ad-
dress the Head of a Department.
I have had several letters from
that gentleman in the same style,
and refrained from noticing their
peculiarities, but the correspondence
is becoming so lengthened and
objectionable
The Under Secretary
Brisbane
{It would be well
the the Clerk of
Petty Sessions should
be instructed thro'
the Bench to be more
mindful in his
official correspondence
and to Use Inspector General
of the relatove positions
of himself and the
latter officer; and to
avoid writing in a
tone which is intemperate
and a style
diffuse and [? somethingslike]
