recommendations resolved to confer and hereby
do confer the degree of Doctor of Divinity upon
the Rev. John Hogg of Guelph, Ont. and
the Rev. John Cunningham Geikie of London,
England, and the degree of Doctor
of Laws upon William Tassie, M.A.
Head Master of the High School, Galt, Ont.
and on the Rev. Alexander F. Kemp M.A.
Professor of Mental Philosophy, Oliver College,
Michigan, U.S.

It was found that Joseph Gandier
had passed the University Examination
in Hebrew, Biblical Criticism,
and Church History, but that he was
prevented by sickness as attested by his
Medical Attendant from being presented at
the examination in Theology. The Senate
agreed that if he pass the matriculation
examination in the Faculty of
Theology next session he shall then
rank as an undergreduate in Theology
of the third year.

Lewis prize won
[/margin]

In accordance with the report
of the examiners the Senate awarded
the Lewis Prize for a Lecture on Mat. 17
1-9 to Peter Stratton Livingston.

The Senate revised the Calendar
for 1871-2
