the foundation of scholarships by the congregations of
Ottawa, Cornwall, Guelph, and Fergus was referred
to the Bursary Committee, of the Allan scholarship
to Dr. Williamson, of the Trustees scholarship
to Mr.Paton through the Principal, of a scholarship
from the Presbytery of Kingston to the
Secretary; each member of Senatus undertook to
collect funds for a Faculty scholarship.

[margin]2d appeal to ex-[/margin]The Secretary was instructed to write again
[margin]dents to refund x. bursaries[/margin]to those students who received bursaries on
condition of their studying for the ministry but
have turned aside to some secular employment,
and to urge them to refund without delay the
money they have thus received.

There was read a letter from Mr. D.B.
Maclennan M.A. alleging that it was not as a
prospective Diviinity Student that he received the
bursaries now demanded back, and denying the
claim made for them by the Senatus. The Secretary
was instructed to send to Mr. Maclennan
a copy of the obligation signed by him, and
to inform him that the Senatus can see no
reason for releasing him from his written
