A special meeting of the Board was held this day
at 4.30 P.M. in the College building.

Present: The Chairman, Messrs Rogers, Chair Horsey,
Drs Knight & Fenwick & Miss Gildersleeve. Former
minutes read approved and signed.

Letters were read from seven young ladies applying for
free tuition in the College on condition that they subsequently
devote themselves to missionary work in China or India.
It was agreed to accept two of these ladies, the selection
being left in the hands of the Chairman, the Dean & Miss Gildersleeve.

Dr Minnie Brown was appointed teacher of Practical
Anatomy vice Dr Isobel McConville.

Dr Knight reported that the caretaker had agreed to
continue to act as Caretaker from June 1st '93 without
any remuneration except that of residence & fuel.

The Dean reported that Dr Elizabeth Embury of
Belleville had consented to deliver the principal address
at the formal opening in Oct.

Opening

Resolved that Dr Grant, Mr RV Rogers, & Dr Knight
be asked to make brief address at the opening. Mr
RM Horsey agreed to provide the musical part of the
programme and Miss Gildersleeve kindly consented
to act in conjuncyiton with the wives of professors &
trustees in providing refreshments.

Resolved that Mr RM Horsey be requested
to make an audit of the accounts of the ex-treasurer
Mr McArthur, and take from him the vouchers &
give a receipt for the same.

The Board then adjourned.
