My dear Colonel,

It is many years since I
promised to try and do a picture
of your brother.

I have been working at it for a long
time myself now, and perhaps it
may please you - I know not, as
every picture from a photograph is
very likely to be unsatisfactory to
those who know the man well.

But I will be very pleased if you
will come & see it at 4:30. one afternoon
and bring anyone you wish.
