My dearest wee Mother

I was very glad to get your kind letter this morning. What a delightful letter that was from little Alec Davidson. I am so glad he went to Alastair's grave. He is a nice kind laddie.

night. I had the American to dinner & Bob Cecil, & we had a very interesting talk. Susie goes back this morning. It is lovely weather now - real autumn. Bob Cecil says I must take a fortnight's holiday, but I won't get more than 3 or 4 days; for I am very busy, but very well.

Robbie's harmonium has arrived & is ensconced in the sewing-room. I doubt it won't be much used, for we are not great harmoniumists.

I hope to get down to Kent this week on the Friday evening.

My birthday things arrived safely & I wrote you about them. They were perfectly splendid. I have written about John Macmartin.

Much love, wee body
