1 Nov Thursday 1894
A Wind blown morning from the South, clouds ragged rolling and torn. Voltie drove to Jack this morning with Grace. Grace this morning paid $50 dollars to Kirkpatrick and Rogers. Eveline took down the bedstead and put down the new carpet in the bedroom Raining most all day, wind blowing a gale from S. Wellie down home plastering but came up in evening and stayed all night. V drove to dock for G. Nell didn't come. I'm not sorry. Frank W and Johny McLochlin here in evening
A fine day for the season clear and cloudless after the rain of yesterday. Trees nearly bare but pastures and most vegetation green and growing. Eveline sewing for Jen and washing a few clothes for the childen. Wellie and his dog down home palstering his house E cuting [sic] & making six bibs for baby. Grace taking the carpet [illegible] bedroom finished the bedroom before [illegible] Voltie carried the last milk to the [illegible] to make a cheese [sentences torn away]

Saturday 3 Nov 1894 Raining hard. Wind blowing a gale from the South all day and part of the night. Wellie and Voltie plastering at Wellie's house after Voltie & Mart had drawn hay for the horses. Mart went to Mrs Niles' and she gave mart 3 pies. I baked one for dinner and fried two for supper, boys came late Mart Eveline milked te cows.
Sunday 4 Nov 1894 A tolerable good day, clear and quiet clouds beginning to gather towards evening. Grace and Mart to to church after dinner. Grace and Eveline go down to look at the new plastered wall, come home and Grace goes over to Will Dixons and stays till dark. Wellie and Voltie go in a [illegible] the river to Lindas Island with [illegible] Evening visitors. Jim Morgan [illegible] Flynn Young, Tom Hogan & Jim [illegible] inviting to a raffle and dance next Tuesday eve. Jim Morgan borrows [illegible] and agrees to bring it home [illegible] night.

Monday 5 Nov 1894 Cold Wind blowing a gale all night with rain. A nasty day wind and rain all day from N.W. Eveline sewing for Jen. I darning socks. Wellie plastering Voltie helping him After dinner W Jr and V helped Will D butcher two hogs. Mart picking up stones till chore time. Morgan didn't bring V's gun home as he agreed.
Tuesday 6th Nov 1894 Wind N.W. Froze quite hard last night for the first time this autumn, sun shine part of the time, but earth and clouds a dreary melancholy wintry look [illegible] and Muriel playing out sliding on ice on the flat and H came in with cold aching fingers which E thawed out in the washdish. dinner, wanted tea and pepper. Eveline sent home the last of Jens work and is now seweing and cutting a dress for herself. Grace cleaned floors and and helped get dinner and finished a night dress. Wellie finished pastering his house and Voltie & Mart are picking up stone. A raffle and dance at John Hogans to night and a bee pulling stumps and an apple pairing [sic] at Wellington Burnham's to night.
Wednesday 7 Oct 1894 A midling fair day for the season. Grace and I dressed 3 turkeys and 2 chickens for market, churned twice and made 12 butter prints for market. Rachel rowed down in a small skiff from Charleton stoped here awhile [illegible] to Kingston tomorrow Voltie in the evening cleaned a [illegible] for mill and done nearly all chores. Mart went to the bee [illegible the church by Rev White. Voltie [illegible] Voltie brought news of [illegible] that Mr Eben Joslin [illegible] of paralysis

Thursday 8 Arose early for tis market day, put up the turkeys, fowls and butter, got breakfast and they all start for the dock once more. Maude goes to school. I dont feel very well but work around slowly all day, churn again and have supper ready when they come home at 8 PM bringing Edith Knight with them to make another new acquaintance. I suppose for more visiting
Friday 9 Rather cold. Wind West. Voltie went over the river to get some medicine for me. called and saw Mr E Joslin who is very low after the severe stroke of parylis [sic] which he had on Wednesday PM Voltie and Mart finished picking stone.
