happy to state he received a very fair share of censure and abuse
for his misconduct, and he told me in confidence he intended to be a
better boy for the future -

We at last got off, but not without some little trouble coming to a young
Artillery Officer, who is possessed of a [underline] "remarkably fine Head of Hair" [/underline]
and who was endeavouring to drive a tandem, but from the trouble he had
to guide his leader, we fear the performance was very [underline] "up Hill" [/underline] work to him,
he however showed his sense of the danger he ran, and lest
he should get into a fight on the road, had provided against such
a contingency by taking a huge [underline] "Miller" [/underline] with him for his 'protection' -
The President now led off and took a road leading in what direction,
the Vice has not the most remote idea, not having had the advantage
of a very long sojourn in Kingston, and Geography in his youth never
formed a part of his infantile studies, therefore all he can state is that
the Club drove over a large quantity of Ice, then over much mud and
dirt, and again Snow, and sometime did go over rocks and among

a wish to carry out some of the acts of his profession on certain fated ones of our
number, and he certainly nearly accomplished what may or may not have been
his design, namely that of producing fractures to the limbs of some of the party -
