for three days use of Scales &c - There was no action taken
thereon

A circular from Arthur L Wilson MA was read
respecting stationery, forms &c

On motion of Ald McGuire seconded by Ald McRossie
Ordered, That the communication of Arthur L Wilson
MA be referred to the Select Committee on Municipal amendments

Communications from The Honorable The Minister of
Marine and Fisheries and Peter Keel overseer of Fisheries &c
were read relative to supply of fish to Canadian markets &c

On motion of Ald Gaskin seconded by Ald Allen
Ordered, That the commuication of the Minister of
Marine and Fisheries and of Peter Keel be referred to the
Committee on the Market to report

A communication from Edwin Horsey, Chief Fire Department
Kingston was read stating it is necessary to station a Hose
Reel with at least 500 feet of Hose in the upper part of City

On motion of Ald Snook seconded by Ald McMahon
Ordered, That the communication of E Horsey be
referred to the Committee on Fire, Water and Gas to report

A requisition from the Clerk of the Police Court was
read and referred to the Mayor

A communication from James Agnew City Solicitor was
read submitting a By Law consolidating and amending various
By Laws relating to Public Markets

Ald McIntyre here left

Ald Anglin brought up the petition of Mrs Thomas Dunn
praying to have her License for selling fresh meat transferred to
RW Corrigan

On motion of Ald Anglin seconded by Ald Allen
Ordered, That the petition of Mr Thomas Dunn be referred
to the Committee on Licenses with power to act

On motion of Ald Gaskin seconded by Ald Anglin
Ordered, That the Market By Law submitted by City Solicitor
be referred to the Committee on the Market to report

Ald Pense from the Committee on Finance and accounts
brought two reports (Numbers 20 & 21 Book E) which were
read

Ald Pense moves seconded by Ald Clements
That the Reports of the Committee on Finance and
accounts be received and adopted and that the City Treasurer
make a half yearly return to the Council of legal expenses
and disbursements and that his first report embraced all such
items since January 1879, as well as all amounts received for fees
refunded
