Ald. McKelvey moved seconded by Ald Livingston
Ordered, That the matter of the Collecting Street watering taxes be referred to the
Finance Committee with instructions to recommend some course to be pursued for
the more prompt payment of same.

From F.C. Ireland City Treasurer giving statement of fees No 1 Market
received to date. Referred to Committee on Finance &c

From Messrs Walkem & Walkem Solictors re insurance on building
on the Fair Ground.

Ald McKelvey moves seconded by Ald Donnelly
Ordered, That the communication of Messrs Walkem & Walkem re the Insurance
on the Fair Ground be referred to the Committee on City Property with power to act.

Ald Johns brought up the Petition of R. Beaupre asking permission to
cut down trees in front of his property corner of Division and Johnston Streets.
Referred to the Board of Works.

Ald Tait brought up the Petition of Robert Massie and 9 others asking
tht Barrie Street be extended from Barrie to Pine Street. Referred to the Board
of Works.

Ald McKelvey from the Committee on Finance and accounts brought up
Reports (Numbers 134, 135 Book H) which were read and adopted.

The Chairman from the Board of Works brought up Report (Number
136 Book H) which was read and adopted.

Ald McKelvey from the Committee on Water Works brought up Report
(Number 137 Book H) which was read and adopted.

The Chairman from the Committee on City Property and Markets
brought Report (Number 138 Book H) which was read and adopted.

The Chairman from the Special Committee on Municpal Law
brought up Report (Number 139 Book H).

Ald Livingston moves seconded by Ald Donnelly
Ordered, That the Report of the Special Committee on Municipal Law
amended already be adopted.

That the Mayor sign and seal the Petition of this Council to the
Legislative Assembly and forward same with a copy of the proposed amendments
to the Hon Wm Harty,

That Hon. Wm Harty be requested to introduce same into the House
and notify the Mayor when the said amendment will be considered by the
Municpal Committee of the House.

And that your Committee be authorized to arrange to have this
Council represented before the Municipal Committee of the House to urge the adoption
of said amendment when they come up for consideration.

The Chairman from the Special Committee on Grain Storage Elevator
brought up Report (Number 140 Book H) which was read and adopted.

Ald McKelvey introduced a By Law to amend a By Law to enact
general clauses respecting Licenses which was read a first time.

The 30th Rule was suspended and the Council went into Committee of
the Whole on the second reading.

The Council resume.
The Committee rose and the Chairman reported the second reading
of the By Law clause by clause.
The Report was received.
The By Law was read a third time and passed.
