On motion of Ald. Carson seconded by Ald Behan
Ordered, That on the petitions presented tonight Re: Asphalt and
Granolithic walks on the endorsation of the Commissioner as being sufficiently
signed the Board of Works have power to act on the same as the season for constructing
the walks is fast closing and the petitioners are desirous of having them completed
this year.

On motion of Ald. Carson seconded by Ald. Behan
Ordered, That the City Solicitor be instructed to take all necessary proceedings
to close up Carlisle Street and to have a conveyance of same to John Savage executed
by the Mayor, the City to receive in exchange certain portions of lots Nos. 11 & 26
by conveyance from John Savage as described and defined by the City Engineer.

Ald. Livingston from the Committee on Finance and accounts brought up
Reports (Numbers 69 1/2 & 70 Book H) which were read and adopted.

The Chairman from the Board of Works brought up Report (Number 71
Book H) which was read and adopted.

The Chairman from the Committe on Water
Works brought up Report (Number 72 Book H) which was read and adopted.

The Chairman from the Committee on City Property brought up Report
(Number 73 Book H) which was received and adopted.

A Communication from W. Abbott was read proposing to purchase rails,
also two telegrams on the subject.

On motion of Ald. Stewart seconded by Ald. Donnelly
Ordered, That the communication of Abbott & Co. be referred to the Board
of Works with power to act at once.

Ald. Richardson brought up the petition of F.R. Sargent asking for
a tile sewer on Frontenac Street from Earl to Union Street &c. Referred to the
Board of Works and City Assessor.

On motion of Ald. Hewton seconded by Ald. Richardson
Ordered, That the Mayor instruct the City Engineer to have the O'Kill
Street drain carried into the lake so as to empty under the water as it is now
causing annoyance to the residents in that locality.

On motion. of Ald Allen seconded by Ald. Behan
Ordered, That the request of His Grace Arch-Bishop Cleary requesting
permission to remove some dead trees in front of Regiopolis College be granted.

On motion of Ald. Donnelly seconded by Ald. Carson
Ordered, That a special meeting for passing By Laws be called for next
Monday night.

On motion the Council adjourned.
