On motion of Ald. Stewart seconded by Ald. Carson
Ordered, That the petition of the School of Mining & others be referred to the
Board of Works with power to Act.

The Chairman from the Water Works company brought up Report
(Number 68 Book H) which was read.

On motion of Ald. Behan, seconded by Ald. Newlands
Ordered, That the report of the Committee on Water Works be read and
adopted provided the City Solicitor report favorable on the subject that the said water rates
be chargeable against the land.

Ald. Drennan here entered.

The Chairman from the Committee on Fire, Water & Light brought up Report
(Number 69 Book H) which was read and adopted.

On motion of Ald. Martin seconded by Ald Minnes
Ordered That the report of the Committee on Fire, Water and Light as adopted
be referred to the Committee on Fire, Water and Light with instructions to have the necessary
agreement prepared and duly executed between the Corporation of the City of Kingston and
the Light, Heat and Power Company of the same place.

Ald Carson introduced By Law No 561 entitled "A By Law to authorize
the construction of a common sewer in a part of O'Kill Street in the City of Kingston,
as a local improvement under the provision of the Municipal Act in that behalf"
which was read a first time.
The 30th Rule was suspended and the Council went into Committee of the
Whole on the second reading.
Ald Skinner in the Chair
The Council resumed.
The Committee rose and the Chairman reported the second reading of the
By Law clause by clause. The Report was received. The 30th Rule being suspended,
the By Law was read a third time and passed.
Yeas: the Mayor, Aldermen: Allen, Behan, Carson, Curtis, Donnelly, Drennan,
Livingston, Martin, Minnes, Newlands, Ryan, Skinner, Stewart,
Strainge, Tait, Walkem - 17 Nays: none.

as a local improvement under the provisions of the Municipal Act in that behalf"

in one amount and to issue debentures for said amount in place of the
debentures authorized to be issued by the said By Laws for the said several amounts"
