Allen, Behan, Carson, Curtis, Donnelly, Drennan, Hewton,
Livingston, Martin, Minnes, Newlands, Redden, Richardson,
Robinson, Ryan, Strainge, Tait

The Clerk read the minutes of the last meeting

Communications summarized by Clerk were read and referred as follows:-

From J. Galloway Secretary Treasurer - The Bradley Garretson Co. Publishers
Brandford - Re sketches of Kingston - Referred to Committee on Finance

From F.C. Ireland, Treasurer showing market fees No 1 Market to date
$1866.70 - Referred to Committee on Finance

From George Hess and others Taxes - Referred to the Court of Revision

From the Education Department Toronto - Re appointment of the Legislature
Public School Grant for 1896. Public Schools Kingston $1.696. Separate Schools
$599 - Referred to the Finance Committee

From W.S. Gordon Secretary Local Board of Health asking that By Law
520 be more rigidly Carried out and that a system be adopted whereby no branch
drain be opened or closed without authority of City Engineer - Referred to the
Board of Works

The Clerk read the Report of the Auditors for the year ending 31st December
1895

On motion of Ald. Drennan seconded by Ald. Richardson

Ordered, That the Auditors Report be received and published as usual

Petitions were presented and referred as follows:-

From R. La Rush and others for a Local Improvement sewer on
Beverly street by Ald. Donnelly. read before Oct 7 th 1895

On motion of Ald. Donnelly seconded by Ald. Richardson

Ordered, That the petition of R. La Rush and others for a sewer on
Beverly street be referred to the Board of Works and City Solicitors with power to
Act on the matter under section 617 consolidated Municipal Act

From E.C. Hiscock and 3 others by Ald. Richardson asking for a new
Plank Walk on North Side of Deacon street between Arch and Barrie streets and
be placed outside of Boulevard - Referred to the Board of Works

From Mary McDonald by Ald Newlands respecting Taxes - Referred
to Court of Revision

From R. Elliott by Ald. Drennan, for removal of side walk

On motion of Ald. Drennan seconded by Ald. Martin
Ordered, That the petition of R. Elliott Re moving out sidewalk to be
done at his own expense be referred to the Board of Works with power to Act
