Reporting death of 'Billy', murderer of Paddy Warren

Sir,

I have the honor to report
that having received information
that "Billy" aboriginal escaped prisoner
murderer of Paddy Warren at Walkers
Ck. was at Kimberly with a mob of
blacks. I proceeded to that place
and the 14th inst tried to recapture
prisoner who jumped into the Norman
River at the widest place three miles
above Kimberly E. Telegraph Station
and though called on repeatedly to
return still tried to escape to
the opposite bank

He was then fired at and
suddenly disappeared whether
shot or taken by an alligator is
uncertain.

I have the honor to be
Sir
Your most obedient Servant
Lyndon Poingdestre
