Sir,
I have the honor
to state that immediate:
ly on receipt of Telegram
relating to the whereabouts
of Johnny Stink-a-Bed &
Billy Bow Bow, I started
in pursuit.

On arrival at Wi-
venhoe [Wivenhoe], I received intelligence
that a strange Black, had
made his appearance at the
Inn in search of tobacco.
I had no doubt he had
come in from Johnny's
Camp, and I made him
prisoner, so that he should
pilot us to the locality.

He took us the
following morning, right
to the head of England's
Creek, in the heart of
d'Aguilar's Range.

I succeeded in surrounding
the first camp, but there
