The Commissioner of Police

Sir

I have the honour to apply to you for a situation as Constable in the Queensland Police Force. I am a native of Kircheim near Ipswich. I am a good horseman and used to bush life hoping my attached recommendation shall prove satisfactorily [sic] to you if appointed I shall do all in my power to give satisfaction.

I am Sir Your obedient servant
