I started for a walk and got as far as the Campus where I stopped a few minutes to see a game of ball. As I was going off I met a man with ice-cream which was too strong a temptation and after eating about 1/2 a quart of that I did not feel like walking so went back to the campus and then home to study. I feel well Thy affectionate son Wm W. Smith.

my dear mother This morning in translation I made a careless mistake and after the recitation asked Mr. Comstock what would make me more careful. He said that I had improved very much in my translating and just to keep on as I was which I thought was very nice. Yesterday a pleasant letter came from cousin Debby in answer to a short note I wrote her. Only four weeks more this term! I feel well and hope you are. W.W.S.
