My dear mother
We went to Exeter yesterday as we
expected to and as it did not rain the game came
off. The result exceeded, think our most san-
guine expectations, certainly we did much better
than I though we would. In the first innings
they for out without scoring at all and we made
five runs! Although of course it did not keep
up that way. We beat them 13 to 5 and did not
take our last inning. Their academy is handsomer
than our and they have rowing but still I prefer
Andover. We finished the Plato this morning
and have now read all the Greek reader. I feel well. W.W.S.
