My dear mother
Last winter Mrs. Rotch asked me to take
lunch with them some day. Would it do to go there to
lunch on my way home at Christmas? The Latin is
hard and the lesson for tomorow is nearly two pages
of advance. It is about like spring today and I expect
to go over to the sailors and see if he will take a walk
with me. Three weeks from to day I will be at home.
One week ago I was enjoying Newport. I wish I was there
now or at home. Brown's leg is doing pretty well but is still
painful at times. I did not suppose a broken limb hurt
so much. I feel very well. W.W.S.
