Andover March 7. 1820

Dear Father

I recieved [received] your affectionate letter of the 17. of.
Febuary [February] this morning. I will not get any bills this term. I am
next the head of our class and I study Caesar and Greek Grammar;
I am as far as the [fifth?] book of Caesar and the verbs in the
Greek Grammar. We have nice skating here and the pond we
skate on is not deep. Levi & Benjamin board at Mr Abbots.
I attend singing school and I can sing pretty well now. I room
with John H Dexter of Boston Lilbourne B Drane of Washington
City and Edward Hedge of Cambridge. Mr A Woods
has left off being an Instuctor at the Academy. Shall I
have to stay here longer than this term? you said I might
be at home [11?] of july. The next term begins on the 1st of
June and ends the 18th of August. This term end [ends] the 10th
of May.

When you come home from Washington will you buy
me a little gun and next summer you and I can go out to
