Dear Dr. Stearns,

Owing to the
recent discomfort of my
sister-in-law, my brother
has postponed the departure
until the 15th of August.
Consequently, I am also
staying as there is no
other place I can go.

The rooms in the
Inn are all occupied, but
we have secured lodgings
at a cottage nearby. The
rate is just as same as
that of the Inn - thirty
dollars a week. We have
to come to the Inn for
our meals every day.
