Cambridge June 29.
Dear brother,
I have only time to write this page to you.
Therefore expect not much of it about yourself; but why in-
deed should you? having so long & so easily been my debtor.
It is with letters as with money debts; the longer a man de-
fers payment, the less inclination, I had almost said, ability
he has to pay. I would hope however that you are not bankrupt
yet; if you are, I am a great sufferer, you being so much
my debt. I am not very well; but am driving my
quill to be read to come and see you. There are {illegible}
my classmates here & it is therefore quite lonesome. I
sent word by Mr. Douglass if I recollect right that I should
be glad to come home next Thursday. I wish to alter the day to
next Wednday. The day before your exhibition. I suppose
you wil take my things away at the same time; come sea-
sonably {illegible} Tell Phebe I havae been expecting her letter for
{illegible} This good while & one for me. I must tell you
I am &c
A. Abbot
N.B. I exhibition be on Wednesday. I wish you to come Teus-
day; not otherwise, having much yet to do. I believe there
will be much company at your exhibition. Judge Wen-
dells family will probably be upl perhaps Mr. craige's
& Torten;s of this town; they talk of it.
