Dear Sir,
I have just received your agreeable
epistle, and shall ever think it a favour to correspond with
you. Begging your pardon, Sir, I have not received a
letter from you, before this since I left Andover; but this
meets with the more grateful acceptation, and
appears like a cordial, and revives me to think
that you have not yet forgotten me. I consider
your inability as far exceeding my best abilities.
You are quite mistaken, Sir, to think that your
letters give me no pleasure. I assure you that
I take very great satisfaction & delight in
perusing your agreeable letters. I am glad to hear
you arrived safe but am sorry that you had
so wearisom a time of it. Be so kind as to
Benjamin, that I have almost forgotten the
time that he wrote & that he is in my {illegible}
It is uncertain whether I shall go home
Andover, if I go at all. Pardon me for write
little & so much nonsense. I am with respect
