(f) 18?th CANADIAN MACHINE GUN COMPANY.
Hdqrs and 8 guns will sprk under orders issued through
the Divisional Machine Gun Officer.
Remaining 8 guns are allotted as under:-
4 guns to 38th Battn.
2? guns to 72nd Battn
? guns to 73rd Battn.
4. Infantry men per gun will be attached to the Machine
Gun Coy. as ammunition carriers, vide 5.G.15/365 dated 31-3-17;
These men to be used as reinforements in case of necessity.
Battn. concerned to arrange for additional men for
carrying ammunition, if necessary.
The above guns and crews to report at respective Battn.
Hdqrs. by ZERO minus 2? hours. Crews to be detailed at once,
and officers to get into touch wtih O.C.'s Battns. concerned,
in order to receive detailed instructions.
(g) 12th CANADIAN LIGHT TRENCH MORTAR BATTERY.
4 Mortars to fire on KENNEDY CRATER and enemy front
line from CLUNY to ?CKS, 75 degrees NORTH of KENNEDY CRATER
during the preliminary bombardment, and later on the support
line between the same C.T's special attention being paid to
the trench junction of CLUTCH and CLUCKS. The trench junction
of CLURY? and GLUTCH will not be fired on after the artillery
barrage has lifted off it.
4 Mortars to fire during preliminary bombardment close
in read of MONTREAL - GUNNERS Group of ?rators?, then to life with
the artillery on the enemy's support line. Fire to cease off
the support Line when the artillery barrage lifts. The Mortars
to be placed so as to facilitate control and ammunition supply
and to form S.O.S. barrage NORTH and EAST of KENNEDY CRATER,
and along the enemy's support Line.
As soon as suitable positions have been located after
consolidation is well under way, 4 Mortars will be moved for-
ward so as to better cover the left flank.
(h) LOCAL BDE. RESERVE.
1 Coy. 72nd Battn. _ ) under command of MAJOR A.D. NILSON,
2 Coys. 73rd Battn ) 72nd Battn.
These 3 Coys. will hold the Brigade front from ZERO minus
one hour. If it is not necessary to use these Coys, to
support the attack, they will be used to assist in the work of
carrying and consolidation, and are alloted as under:-
Left Coy. of 73rd Battn - to 73rd Battn
Right Coy. of 73rd " - to 78th Battn
One Coy. of 72nd Battn. - to 72nd Battn.
(i) BRIGADE RESERVE.
46th Battn (19th Bde.) will come under the order of G.O.C.
12th Bde. by ZERO minus 2 hours should be accomodated as follows:-
Hdqrs. and 2 Coys. at CABARET ROUGE - ARRAB ROAD.
" Coys. BAJOLLE LINE.
They will be kept for tactical purposes only as much as
able.
