In answer to
your request of the 2nd inst I regret to
have to inform you that I can't afford
you more information (at the present
time) concernnig the mammals of
that region (Minnesota) than I have
already done as [insert above: I] am now located in this
place, haven't been Home since I saw you
[illegible] going in the Spring, on a visit, I would
recommend to your honor this Gentleman,
John L. Davis [insert above: my brother,] of the same place as my
address last Winter. I have written to Him
concerning this matter. you do the same.
guess He will do the [illegible: thin?] up wright, if spe-
cimens are wanted from this region where I
now stay, I am at your services.
