Remarks on board Thursday the 10 of October.
These 24 hours Commences with Calm weather.
We cut the whale and scraped the bone and
sot the try works a gong and saw several whale
and lowered the boats and went after them
and Mr. Jones boat got there fast and tyhe line got
foul and they had to cut. We chasded them a spell
and found it was of no use to chase they any further
and went a board and we saw another one and
went after it but soon returned without it.

Remarks on board Friday the 11th. These 24 hours
Commences with light winds and Calms [?]
at 6 we began to ?stow the oil down and we saw
a great many finbacks. At 10 we finished ?drying

REmarks on board Saturday the 12. These 24 hours
Commences with a pleasant breezs.
We finished a stowing down the oil and scraped
the decks. AM we saw a whale and lowered
the boats and went after it and it was very
shy and we couuld not strike it and we came
[ILLUSTRATION in margin] Whale tail - 90
aboard and got breakfast and lowered the
boats and Mr Jones boat got fast and soon
killed it and got it along side of the ship
and cut it in. 108 Days out

Commences with moderate Breeze. All hands employed
in the scraping bone. We saw a great many finbacks
and we saw two or three right whale

hours Commences with fresh breeze. All hands
employed in stowing down the oil and cleaning
the Decks. 110 Days out

Remarks on board Tuesday the 15th. These 24 hours
Commences with a Gale of wind and rain with
some thunder and lightning. 11 Days out
