Charleston So Ca

December 27th 1866

Friend Dudly

I received your letter
and take the first oppitunity to
answer. I have exchanged your
State Money for Green Backs with
Mr Marshall you will please find
the same Enclosed. In regards to the
money that is due you by (Mr M)
the best way for you is to write him
a few lines for if I should ask
Him any thing about it He being
so [??sensitive] He probely would get
offended and take no notice of it
He is doing a tip top traid and I
should think that if you write Him
He would pay you what is due.
Charleston is about played out traid
is very dull and a lots of young
men out of situations. I think
that as soon as warm weather
