A rainy day most of the time
clear tonight and the wind is
blowing. Ben carried Virginia and
Helling & Nettie as far as
Kates. It rained so hard they
stopped at Kates.

Josie and I got dinner and
set by the fire all that
we could. Mrs Mayhew came
this evening and wanted Ben
to saw some wood for him.
I do hope the wind won't
blow to hard all night.
