Draft of 15 men paraded by Capt. O'Sullivan & later paid. Donation of cigarettes & tabacco sent by the Calgary Herald through the Paymaster delivered to Major Parkinson for distribution to the men. RBO's 16 Batt. at Verdrell. Mild weather. RBO's 17 Batt. at Verdrell. Mild weather. RBO's 18 Batt. returned to trenches at Vimy Ridge. Paymaster and clerk went to Rouen on duty. Mild weather. RBO's 19 Batt. in trenches at Vimy Ridge. 20 Batt. in trenches at Vimy Ridge. 21 Batt. in trenches at Vimy Ridge. 22 Batt. in trenches at Vimy Ridge. At 5.30 pm a raid on German trenches was made by five officers and 85 other ranks, assisted by Field and Heavy artillery stokes mortors and machine guns. Results 38th Batt 1. Thirty three dead Huns were counted. 2. S? dug-outs were bombed. 3. Estimated that the enemy sustained at least forty other casualties besides the above dead. 4. Enemy wire practically nil. Army Form C2118. ----- Place -- Date -- Hour -- Summary of Events and Information Remarks and references to Appendices ----- Trenches 1917 Feb 22 cont. The force of the 38th was divided into five parties. No. 1 under Lieut. RH Gardner. Nos 2 & 3 under Lieut. D.. Hatcheron & Liu. N.A. Stott. No 4. under Lieut. A. W. Duncan No 5. under Lieu. A. M. Jarvis. Subsequent to the raid Liut. Campbell was killed and Lieut. Gardener wounded in the trenches. The raiders were congradulated by the Brigadier General. - Our Casualties 4 killed, 27 wounded. RBO's 23 Batt. in trenches at Vimy Ridge. RBO's 24 Batt. in trenches at Vimy Ridge. RBO's 25 Batt. in trenches at Vimy Ridge. RBO's Villers au Bois 26 Batt. succesful B. Villers au-Bois 1917 Mar. 1 Battalion at Villers-au-Bois and Bijoli Line. Fear of German counter attack after losses sustained in raid by 75th and 54th sent all but one Company into support and tht Co. was standing to 75th & 54th Colonels killed. RBO'S

2 Batt. at Villers-au-Bois and Bijoli Line. Heavy fog in the morning, but cleared towards noon. RBO'S

3 Batt. moved from Villers au Bois in the afternoon to Coupigny. Batt. band being re-organised. Very mild RBO'S

Compigny 4 Batt. at Coupigny. Transport Lines still at Petit Servine. Cold and windy but bright. Transport Lines paid. RBO'S

5 Batt. paid at Coupigny. Very warm. RBO'S

6 Batt. at Coupigny. Warm. Aeroplanes very active. RBO'S

7 Batt. at Coupigny. Transport Lines moved to Hersin in afternoon. Snow. Very cold and windy. RBO'S

8 Batt. at Coupigny. Heavy snow storm. Cold. RBO's

9 Batt. at Coupigny. Marched to Chateau de la Haie to combine with the rest of the 12th Brigade for an inspection by Sir Robert Borden. Very cold and windy. RBO'S

10 Batt. at Coupigny. Marched to Chateau de la Haie to Horse Show. Transport competed successfully. RBO'S also day of Brigade Sports. CME.
