War Diary Month March 1918

Place -- Date -- Hour -- Summary of Events and Information Remarks and references to Appendices

AUCHEL 1918 Mar 1 cont.
This success was all the more remarkable in that
the T.O. was "on leave" and Major Olver was
carrying on the dual duties of Quartermaster &
T.O. -- Part of the Battalion was paid in the
late afternoon & carried on until 9.30 pm.
in order to interfere as little as possible with
the syllabus of training.
Weather :-- Cool and Fine. well adapted for
all outdoor work. RBO'S

do 2 Balance of Batt. paid without interfering with
the training. Batt. was at the Ranges, BOIS
DES DAMES, and steady practice was carried on.
Weather :-- cold day with showers of snow in the night. RBO'S

do 3 Church Parades held. Batt. was inspected by
the Commanding Officer. A and B Companies before
and C and D after Church Parade.
Weather :- Snowed a good deal through the day & very cold RBO'S

do 4 Training syllabus included Inspecitons, P.T. and
B.F. Platoon & Section Training, Parades of Companies &
Battalion Drill. Where necessary, new Gas Helmets
