Batt. in Support Line as per Operation Order no. 94. and
executed night of 27th/28th August. Transport Lines
at point between CARENCY and HOSPITAL CORNER. Lt.
Col. C. M. Edwards. D. S. O. in Command. Weather
windy with showers in afternoon. Strength of Batt.
as per Form 213. Officers thirty eight (38) other
ranks nine hundred and seventy two (972). Details
Officers 9 - O. R. 134. Operation Order no 95 issued
Extracts:- The 38th Batt. will be relieved in the
Left Support on the night of the 2nd/erd September by
the 46th Batt. and after relief will be billetted in
JOUAVE VALLEY. Completion of relief to be notified
to present Batt. Headquarters by code word "MERRY" RBO'S

2nd Reparations under way in JOUAVE VALLEY for Batt.
coming out to Rest. RBO'S

ZOUAVE VALLEY 3
Operation order no 95 executed and Batt. in JOAVE
VALLEY. Battalion in course of the day was paraded
to the 4th Divisional Btts. Germans bombing back
areas. Fine weather. Bright moonlight. RBO'S

4 Money obtained from new Cashier after making two
trips to the Chateau for this purpose previously. Transport
lines paid. Hun aeroplanes bomb back areas. Good weather. RBO'S
