Front Line 1917 Aug 26 cont.
movement is to take place in larger bodies than Platoons
O.C. Companies will be held responsible that no advance
parties are permitted to proceed overland during daylight. RBO'S

Front Line 27
From 9 pm August 26th to 9 pm Aug. 27th our Intelligence
Reports contain the following.
Of GREEN CRASSIER, CITE StANTOINE, CITE DU NORD the tunnel
at N.27.c.80.20. railway embankment at N.27.a.80.75 and
enemy back areas. Considerable counter battery work
was engaged in. Our stokes guns shelled RED CHATEAU
grounds during the night, while our 2 inch Trench Mortars
cut wire at N.33.a.4.8. There was the usual night firing
by our Machine Guns on enemy posts, roads and com-
munication trenches. Our Snipers fired throughout
the day at targets near tunnel at N.27.c.80.20. results
not observed. Our aircraft showed little activity
owing to oberservation conditions.
Except for some counter battery work early in the day,
hostile artillery has been quiet. Front line area
was lightly shelled at 4.30 a.m special attention being
given by the enemy to SANCTION and BEAVER trenches,
southern boundary of AVION, the ELEU Sector and N.32.a.9.6.
