Front Line 1917 Aug 2 cont.
N.27.c.65.30. Railway crosses over road at this point.
Bridge completely destroyed, apparently blown in by
mine, had apparently been brick structure.
N.26.a.90.95. Railway crosses Canal at this point.
Bridge is simple steel shape about 25 feet long, girders
about 3 to 4 feet thick, supported at each end by
brick wall,practially undamaged. RBO'S

Front Line Aug. 3 Batt. in Front Line. Summary of Intelligence 9 pm
Aug 2nd to 9 pm Aug 3.
Our artillary activity was slightly below normal. The
usual harassing fire was carried on during the night
on enemy back areas and communications. Retaliatory
fire was directed on enemy lines three times during
the night. Fosse 4 and Embankment being parti-
cularly dealt with. During the day, our artillery
shelled CITE DU NORD, sectiosn of LENS, SALUMINES and
