Chateau de la Haie 1917 May 28 cont.
active and in the past four days claim five Huns, one an Officer
5. Aircraft. Weather conditions being favourable aerial activity has
been above normal. Very few air fights, however, have taken place.
On the night of the 26th- ?, one of our machines was attacked over
enemy lines, but was able to return under control. It is very noti-
ceable that hostile aircraft invariably retire on the appearance of our
tri?planes
6. Enemy Works. Hostile machine gun emplacements have been
located at M.32.d.9.1. M.33.d.6.1. and T.2.c.9.2. Our artillery
fire has caused caused considerable demolition to enemy wire
on our whole Battalion Front. No damage has been done to
our Trench system by hostile fire. Company patrols
covered the frontage of each of their Companies during the
night, working forward as near as the enemy wire. No
enemy parties were encountered or seen, nor was any
enemy work on his front line trenches or wire observed.
